We are System Design Dive, operated as a sole proprietorship based in the European Union. We operate an educational portal for software developers.

2. What data we collect
We may process the following types of data when you use our portal:
- Account information (e.g. name, email address) – when you sign up.
- Technical information (e.g. device type, browser version, operating system, IP address).
- Interview content – your conversations with the AI interviewer and tutor, diagram data, and interview topics you generate.
- Error and crash reports – when something goes wrong in the app (via Sentry).
- Analytics data (with your consent) – basic usage statistics and performance metrics to help us understand how the app is used and improve its functionality (via PostHog/Sentry).
3. How we use your data
We process your data for the following purposes:
- To provide the service – operating your account, showing content, handling support.
- To provide AI-powered features – your interview conversations and diagrams are processed through AI models via OpenRouter to generate responses, feedback, and reports.
- To keep the app reliable and secure – we use Sentry to track technical errors and crashes.
- To improve the app – with your consent, we use PostHog/Sentry to collect basic analytics data (usage patterns, feature adoption, performance metrics) to understand how users interact with the app and identify areas for improvement.
- To comply with legal obligations – keeping basic business records.
Analytics data collection is privacy-focused and purpose-limited to product improvement: we collect aggregated usage statistics, performance metrics, and technical identifiers (such as session IDs and device characteristics) to understand how the app is used and identify areas for improvement. We do not use analytics for individual user profiling, behavioral tracking, or targeted advertising.
We do not use analytics or behavioral tracking tools for marketing purposes.
4. Legal basis under GDPR
We rely on the following legal grounds:
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): when we process your account data to provide the service.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): for basic error monitoring (Sentry) and technical operation.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): for analytics data. We will ask for your explicit consent before collecting any analytics. You can withdraw your consent at any time through your account settings, and we will immediately stop collecting new data.
5. International use
- All data is stored and processed in the European Union.
- Analytics data is processed by PostHog/Sentry using EU-hosted infrastructure.
6. Data retention
- Account data: kept as long as you have an account.
- Analytics data (PostHog/Sentry): automatically deleted after 12 months.
7. Sharing of data
- OpenRouter (AI processing): we use OpenRouter as our AI service provider to process your interview conversations and generate responses. OpenRouter routes requests to AI model providers. We exclusively use models that do not train on user data, ensuring your interview content remains private and is not used to improve AI models.
- PostHog/Sentry (EU-hosted): used for analytics and product insights on our behalf. When you consent to analytics, PostHog/Sentry processes basic usage data to help us understand how the app is used and improve its functionality.
- We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption and access controls.
9. Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting an update on this page.
